Softness isn't only about how thick a tissue looks.
The type of pulp, how the fibres are processed, the number of layers and any additional treatment applied to the tissue can all affect how it feels against your skin.

What does 4-ply actually mean?
“Ply” simply refers to the number of layers that make up a sheet of tissue.
A 4-ply tissue has four layers. More layers can provide better strength and absorbency, but softness isn't determined by ply alone. The quality and treatment of those layers matter too.
That's why two tissues labelled “4-ply” may still feel quite different when you use them.
Then there's lotion
This is another reason certain facial tissues feel noticeably softer.
Unlike conventional dry tissues, lotion facial tissues contain moisturising ingredients designed to give the tissue a smoother, gentler feel against the skin.
It's a difference you may appreciate most when you're using tissues frequently — during a cold, when allergies strike, while removing makeup, or simply on days when your skin feels more delicate.

Does antibacterial mean it has to feel different?
Not necessarily.

To-Go is the more compact option for handbags, school bags, the office, travelling or keeping in the car.
